Chapter 1
Building Trust with AI Governance
Monica Reynolds
Hey everyone, welcome back to the Dayforce SKO 2026 Breakout Sessions Recap. I’m Monica Reynolds, and if you’ve been following along with this series—especially our recent deep-dives on unified HR and platform-led selling—today, we’re going to zero in on what I think has become the heartbeat of HR transformation: trust in AI. There’s a lot of buzz out there, sometimes a bit too much hype, so let’s get right into how Dayforce is turning trust into a real, competitive differentiator.
Monica Reynolds
First things first—when we talk about trust at Dayforce, it’s not just a tagline. We’re leading with verifiable, global standards. In fact, Dayforce is ISO 42001 certified, which—if you’re a bit of an AI governance nerd like me—is the world’s first international standard dedicated to AI management systems. And, not to bog you down with acronyms, but we’re also attested to the NIST AI Risk Management Framework. That’s the US gold standard, so we’re ticking boxes both globally and stateside when it comes to transparent and auditable AI lifecycles.
Monica Reynolds
What does this all boil down to? For us, it means our whole platform’s been architected on a single data model—the same foundational core that, as we discussed in our “Unlocking Dayforce Unified HR” episode, eliminates those typical integration headaches. Here, it takes on a whole new meaning: strict governance, all your people data continuously monitored, encrypted at rest and in transit, isolated, and—here’s my favorite part—absolutely no mixing of data. No commingling, period.
Monica Reynolds
Now, I want to share a quick story—because as much as we love standards, what matters is how this plays out with real customers. Not too long ago, I was in a session with a CIO who, let’s just say, wore their skepticism like a badge of honor. You know the ones. They’d heard some pointed comments about AI immaturity from other vendors, and honestly, they weren’t buying any marketing fluff. What turned the tide wasn’t just the audit trails or encryption tech—it was the fact that we brought in our external AI Ethics Council. Folks like Agnes Bundy Scanlan and Merve Hickok, real leaders who know their stuff and aren’t afraid to ask tough questions. They pressure-test our AI initiatives, plan for evolving regulations, and evaluate real-world impacts. Watching the lightbulb moment as that CIO realized we weren’t just saying “trust us,” but actually showing how trust is built into our process—it still sticks with me.
Monica Reynolds
So, with AI governance, it’s not just about what we do internally. It’s also about bringing in the right voices, keeping everything observable, auditable, and making sure customers can see and configure exactly how AI is used in their organizations. We’re not building AI in a black box—you get transparency and control, full stop.
Chapter 2
Empowering HR Through AI Agents and Assistants
Monica Reynolds
Of course, trust would feel pretty empty if it didn’t power up some serious results in the HR trenches. That’s where Dayforce’s AI Assistant and a growing lineup of agents come into play, really moving the needle for HR teams. And, if you recall the stories from last episode about efficiency gains using unified platforms—well, AI automation ramps that up even more.
Monica Reynolds
Let’s take the AI Assistant. It’s not just another chatbot, it’s built from the ground up on our secure platform. The Assistant handles everything from time-off requests and pay clarity to providing quick answers about benefits or company policies. What’s wild—customers with the AI Assistant report 50% fewer HR tickets per employee. That’s a real stat, not just wishful thinking. For a 1,000-person company, the time-off agent alone can return 384 hours a year to the business. Imagine what you could do with that extra time—for a lot of HR teams, that’s the difference between just staying afloat and launching new initiatives.
Monica Reynolds
And we’re just getting started. There’s more rolling out soon: a People Analytics Agent—think real-time, role-based insights delivered in plain English or whichever language your team speaks, because multilingual support’s on the roadmap too. Then the AI Course Creator, which can generate structured training from just a handful of prompts, and the collaborative AI Workspace, where employees, managers, and AI all work together on documents and data live. That kind of automation and intelligence—delivered securely, auditable at every step—is where Dayforce is heading for 2026.
Monica Reynolds
I should talk about Etraveli Group. If you sell into tech or travel, you know their standards are sky-high. Their CIO and data teams had heard a few rumors about Dayforce lagging on AI governance—thanks for that, Workday—but after a serious security review, what convinced them was our mature AI governance framework. That, and the ability to automate so many processes internally: they eased security concerns and immediately improved HR outcomes. For their teams, the Dayforce AI Assistant wasn’t just a time-saver—it shifted the internal narrative from skepticism to empowerment. HR started focusing on more strategic work, and employee experience got a major lift. That’s what trust lets you unlock.
Chapter 3
Differentiators and Industry Impact
Monica Reynolds
So all this leads to a pretty natural question: what actually sets Dayforce apart in a world full of vendor claims and, honestly, a fair bit of AI noise? Let’s put some cards on the table. When you stack up Dayforce against the likes of Workday or Oracle, our unified data architecture is a total gamechanger. Single HCM data model? Check. That means no more piecing together fragmented sources—it’s cleaner, more secure, and way easier to configure.
Monica Reynolds
Then you’ve got our bias-tested models and full audit trails, which translate to real peace of mind around legal and compliance risks. Faster ROI, too—implementations that actually move at the speed your business needs. All underpinned by a transparent, compliance-driven AI strategy, not just a feature checklist. And as we’ve touched on in earlier episodes, transparent opt-in for all new AI features, giving clients real agency over what gets rolled out and when.
Monica Reynolds
Want proof? Just look at customers like Hubexo and Champneys. Hubexo was all-in on Workday at first but switched to Dayforce because our approach to AI trust and ethics was just so much more mature. They united HR across 25 countries on a single platform. Over at Champneys, their HR leader put it best—she told us, “Sure, the hours saved are great, but what really matters is having bandwidth to focus on new projects and strategic initiatives.” That’s the multiplier effect here: AI gives you back time, but Dayforce expands what you can actually achieve with that time.
Monica Reynolds
I’ll close with a quick anecdote from a European retail client—again, maybe a little skeptical at first about Dayforce’s AI maturity, maybe they’d just heard the competition’s pitch about “immaturity” one too many times. What convinced them? Seeing firsthand how governance was bolted right in, plus that we only enable AI features with explicit, client-controlled opt-in. That hands-on transparency—customers today really expect it, and it’s becoming the new standard.
Monica Reynolds
Alright, that wraps up today’s look at trust and transformation with Dayforce AI in HR.
